Just to put things into their perspective, I would descibe my better half as an antidote, rather than a toxin.

So, Tooks, how is it going? I guess the old adage "no news is good news" will ring strong and clear, Hopefully.

I haven't heard from her for a while.

It was Candy's 3rd birthday the other day, I called to sing to her and tell her I love her.

The MiL told me nobody had heard from the wife. The whole family was trying to get in touch with her so she could spend Candy's birthday together. But I guess she is just not interested as she turned her phone off.

I got through to her as I wanted to remind her of the birthday, but it was some other person who answered the phone and told me the wife was drunk and sleeping. Funny though, I could hear her talking in the background.

Anyway, hopefully things are settling down. However, the calm before the storm is never far from my mind.
