December 12, 200817 yr ROBERT Mugabe yesterday claimed Zimbabwe has NO cholera crisis — as fears grew the epidemic could spread to BRITAIN. The African tyrant declared on TV: "I am happy to say our doctors are being assisted by others and the World Health Organisation have now arrested cholera." Amid calls for him to be ousted, he sneered: "Now that there is no cholera there is no cause for war." His absurd claim came as starving citizens continued to bury their dead — and Britain's Home Secretary Jacqui Smith warned the epidemic could come here. She briefed Cabinet colleagues that the disease, which has killed 800 in Zimbabwe, may be brought in by those fleeing the country on false passports. Today, a British Red Cross appeal was said to be under way. Matt Cochrane, a delegate from the International Federation of the Red Cross, returned from Messina, on South Africa's border with Zimbabwe, earlier this week. He said: "We're right on the cusp of the rainy season. That is typically when we see the first cases of cholera. Now we have an already serious situation and rain coming on top of that. "There's no room for complacency. We have to hope for the best but we have to continue to plan for the worst." Yesterday the US demanded other African nations work together to topple Mugabe. A senior official said: "There is a continued outcry from African nations that this is an African problem and it needs an African solution. But so far they have been unwilling to step up and show us what that African solution is. "That African solution is very simple — get rid of Mugabe." He added: "Zimbabwe is a landlocked country. The closure of the border, literally in a week would bring this country to its knees."
December 12, 200817 yr Yes Jacqui Smith warned the goverment that they may be facing an epidemic and was shot down by the forigin office, <deleted>. I read the article and if I remember correctly they belive that there may be up to 60,000 illegal Zimbabweans in the country already.
December 12, 200817 yr Yes, there is no problem in the UK with regards to the Cholera outbreak. The Uk goverment has strict immigration laws laws that prevent Zimbabwean nationals from entering the UK. And if they do enter, they will be allowed a house, mobile phone, money for living, driving lessons and free medical care to make sure the the UK population are not affected totster
December 13, 200817 yr The African tyrant declared on TV: "I am happy to say our doctors are being assisted by others and the World Health Organisation have now arrested cholera." Nice one Trebor, when's the trial? Oh I forgot, you don't have trials do you? Your courtrooms have only two people in attendance : the guilty party and the executioner. The guy is a raving nutter and it would be nice to think once Britain is untangled from Iraq something positive could be done about instigating a regime change for humanity's sake. Unfortunately neither the UN nor the AU would support it and Mugabe's Zanu PF boys would resort to a guerilla war against the civillian population.
