lost_in_space
I'm going to replace my old Sony digital 8mm camcorder, which never worked on Ubuntu, and didn't work very well on Windows either, for that matter. So I thought I'd get a HDD camcorder. I've read that if the camcorder has a firewire connection, there should be no problem connecting to my computer. But I don't think I'm going to get a chance to try it before I buy it. Does anybody have any advice/warnings on a brand?
slackula
Assuming that your computer has a firewire port (most PCs don't, all Macs do) the best advice is to google for 'Canon XX231sdwty linux' or whatever the model name is and see what turns up.
