BigBikeBKK
If thats what the bike looks like, I'd hate to see what the rider looks like! Apparently a Russian who hired the bike from the Beach road! It will be repaired. I'd like to see a pic of the Russian! Probably in shorts and sandals and an egg shell helmet too- did he survive? BigBikeBKK
I loved the red, but was concerned about the resale value. Bit of an odd concern- a complete color change with OEM parts only costs about 10000 Baht Ride On! Tony
trunknuk
Question: I just wired up my Zumo 550 GPS on my ER6n. I was able to pull the cable thru along the other wires by hand and it seems to have worked fine. I connected the power ends directly to the battery as show in the photo. Am I going to have any problems with this set up? I've read about the battery drain leaving the GPS plugged in and bike off, but I don't plan on doing that often. Won't there be times you'll want to leave the Zumo in it's charging cradle while the bike is off? Would be better to wire it to a switched 12v power source like the taillight so you won't run the battery down when the bike is off. Ride On! BigBikeBKK
ER6n RR Track Bike Project Decided last night to convert the ER6n to a dedicated track bike and started stripping her down- Pulled the airbox baffles, plugged the PAIR valve, installed the PCV and Autotune. These lightweight new billet aluminum rearsets will replace the massive stockers. Of course I won't have the passenger pegs installed on the track bike Will mount some Pirelli Diablo Supercorsas- Waiting for sport bars and a TWO BROS to arrive from the US and she'll be ready to roll! Steel lines and EBC pads are on their way. Will drop the front as far as the sport bars will allow and see how she handles with otherwise stock suspension before I consider some suspension upgrades down the road. Should be FUN! Let the Good Times ROLL! Tony

BSJ
To stop things falling off I've been using Loctite 222 and 648 since my apprentice days. Not cheap but they have a shelf life measured in years.

Bung
I fitted my IXIL pipe today, looks and sounds great! Seems very well made (from Spain) and was easy to fit. There also seems to be no popping on the overrun either so I don't think I will bother with plugging the pair valve. It comes with a fitting for the o2 sensor as standard. I bought it out of Australia for about 12000B shipped, I can't remember what the tax was (mrs sorted it out while I was away but wasn't much). Here it is out of the box: It has a bolted flange here so you can spin the pipe around to get a perfect position then you clamp it down which I thought was a very nice touch. Quality. It has a copper washer to seal good: It also came with a baffle and a washer you install if you want to run without a baffle. There is already one in it and think it is somewhere between the two, I will have to try it. You just need to unbolt the end cap to fit them. Too easy. I like the sound as it is, not too loud but has a nice cammy rumble on a trailing throttle...I could probably play around with the baffle and drill some more holes in it for a custom sound but it ain't no 1000cc V twin.... Here it is fitted: I'm very happy with it and I think it looks good on the black bike. Also nice that it is different to the common ones you see here and a reasonable price. Paid with paypal and the guy was very good to work with, even offered to put whatever price on the invoice I wanted. I also fitted renthal 7/8ths streetfighter bars, gel grips and bar end mirrors. Much better. Edited August 24, 2010 by Bung

Bung
Yeah, I have never posted a you tube clip but will give it a go! It should take no longer than 5 min to change the baffles. Maybe do it out of town and give it some wellie although it sounds better in the lower rev range than up high, like all of them.

Bung
Here's some pics of the bars: I was going to go the fat bar route but once you put the adapters on (7/8ths-1") I felt they would be too high and look neater like this. I did want to remove the cross brace but when I took it off I found the clamps had worn off the anodizing under it so it stays. They're much better than stock. The mirrors are rock steady and you can flip them up and out of the way if you need to do some lane splitting and parking. I had to grind off the plastic locating pins in the switchgear as I didn't want to drill the bars. I just put a couple of turns of black insulation tape under where they clamp and they tighten onto the bars ok. I'm not running any bar ends and will wait until I can do a long run to see how the vibes go. I can remove the mirrors from the bar ends, clamp them around the end of the bars (moving the grips in a touch) and fit bar end weights.I think I will end up doing this as it will offer better protection and cheaper to replace a bar end than a mirror (can't buy singles) Now, just need it to stop raining..... mezcal
Beautiful! I like the IXIL too, but I'd rather put the double IXIL instead. The handlebars look nice. Not so sure about the mirrors though. Look at this ER6n. http://www.er6thailand.com/board/index.php?topic=11275.0 It has just been advertised on the thai er6 website at 195.000. If the timing was right, I would definitely go for it....but have to wait . Those mirrors look very cool! ciao Edited August 25, 2010 by mezcal
Bung
God, sorry but to me those mirrors look terrible I looked at getting some like that (without the "technicolour" scheme) but are very expensive being billet alloy.
Bung
I should clarify the price for the pipe as I just checked the receipts. AUD 400 for the pipe + AUD 30 for shipping THB 1200 import duty. AUD 430 = 11979 THB @ todays exchange rate + 1200 = 13200THB at your door. AUD 430 = USD 380 BTW they do a plain alloy one as well as a very nice carbon for AUD 100 more. Edited August 25, 2010 by Bung
LivinLOS
Pipe looks great.. I have some bar ends either the same or similar, and love the view, they surprised me how well they worked at rear vision being far out.. But took them off to ship it recently and the difference in confidence round town, lane splitting and filtering was huge. I reckon I may have to look for some kind of compromise which doesnt widen the bars so much. Then again maybe hooning it between traffic isnt the wisest either !!
Bung
Yeah, I agree. You can flip then in to split traffic but still, they are out there. Good clear view though. The renthal bars are wider than stock which doesn't help. I am thinking of the Rizoma billet jobs you see around here but they are pang maak, I bought those bar ends in NZ for NZD
Bung
Talking about sending stuff in to use compared to buying locally, I bought a Shoei RF1100 helmet (top model)in the states for $360 with free shipping! Cost only THB 400 in tax! Unbelievable, That lid would be 20 000+ here!
