I find that quite surprising. Seem to be plenty of vacancy signs for guest houses along Nanai Rd in Patong.

Ok guys, thankyou for that. I am discussing it with the boss. Will call Kelley's tomorrow if she still wants to go. Only a 6 hour drive, so we are ok yet.

Did you offer to pay in advance ? i.e. before you checked in/out ?

Hotels in Patong dont take bookings anymore unless its paid in advance. At least the decent ones dont anyway.

Considering the many hotels complaining about no customers...

Personally I think that hotels with regular returning customers have few if any problems. Its the expensive places which have problems!!

Have a check anyway for THE CLUB in Kamala. (use google) and ask (email is answered).

Asked for a mate for 2nd Jan onwards and was told they couldnt.. Tho I got the impression he just doesnt know when some rooms are booking out.. Said to come back and check in case guests leave.
