Plagarism?

Perhaps RichardBKK knows about this, but in case he didn't there's this website that seems to be plagarising from his motorcycle.in.th. I was looking for information (about Honda bikes natch) and came across it. Something seemed oddly familiar so I copied a section of text and pasted it into Google. Sure enough the only other hit was motorcycle.in.th. So for all those out there that are running blogs or websites, occasionally check to make sure that nobody is stealing your stuff.

All the articles on that site are copy and paste articles which can be found on numerous sites on the web.So don't see any plagiarism.

Isnt 'copy and paste' the exact definition of plagiarism ??

I assume Richard has a copyright notice on his site.. To stop exactly this kind of content theft.

I thought the person doing the copy & pasting would have to have permission to do so & also quote where he got the pasted material from. I thought that was all part of plagiarism? :o:D

What I meant was that most,if not all,of the articles are copied and pasted from a manufacturers website. If you search a fraction of the text in google,as dave boo did,and you get 50 hits including famous world renown websites then you can assume it were official press releases.

Edit:i see that some of the articles have a link posted to Richard's blog.

I'll admit that I didn't read through all of the pages, but copying a paragraph, grammatical mistakes and all, was more than enough to get me to Richard's blog. The link you saw was a malformed img link...guy has most of the other ones ok, but there appears to be a few he messed up on. Plus, if you have come across any of my posts in the past that have been critical of Richard you'd know I often slam him for not quoting 'real' websites. However, it does appear that he has put a lot of work into that website and it's not fair for him to have others profitting off it with out recognising him. Add in the fact that this other site links to his pictures, and thus uses his bandwidth (if I was in Richard's position I'd create cute little files to let visitors to the other website know that MY images were stolen and simply update the img links on my own site) is another big no-no.

Yeah always good to swap your own image file links and then rename some quality horse porn for the link stealer's.

That is very true so luckily there is the new court system in Singapore where you can sue people from anywhere and nobody needs to be there in person. Also simply getting your lawyer to notify the hosting company for the site, and they will shut them down and blacklist them.

Or do as Trent link pictures to some absolutely horrible porn once in a while, that puts off load of the <deleted> who just steal.

The idea of changing some pictures to porn made me laugh, its a good one. But at the moment it is also a evidence that the articles are copied from our website.

The problem with the Philippine Court is that we not hold all copyrights of the articles posted on our website, some are press releases, therefore we need to specify all articles one by one. In a previous copyright issue with the same website they copied all articles from our topic "Modify & Maintenance" and it was easier for us to force them to remove the articles.
