Apple Store On Koh Samui

Featured Replies

Does anyone know if there's an Apple store/dealer on Samui? I'm after a Macbook and wonder as well if prices differ from the online Apple store. Cheers!

i'm just sharing info, thats all. cheers.

I have been in Apple re-seller stores all over Thailand and I can tell you their prices are identical to the online prices. Having had past experiences with retailers in Thailand and the service they provide, I would go with an online purchase. Shipping is free.

Interesting about the shipping - My concern is always customs here in Thailand. I know IT is supposed to my duty free, but is it really? Fantastic if I can just ask apple to ship me IT stuff, but I would love to hear first hand that someone has done it successfully.

Thanks

A friend of mine, on Koh Samui by the way, just ordered and received a Mac Mini. Like you, he was very concerned about customs fees, especially when he saw it was being shipped from Singapore by DHL.

I can assure you, he received his with no fees what so ever.

The only problem is that all Apple products I have seen here in Thailand, whether at a re-seller or the one ordered online, came with the large 3 pronged Singapore mains plug.

samui used to have 2 apple stores at the same time last year, 1 in chaweng and 1 near the big C, but now both have closed down not to long ago, most likely since there isn't a demand for buying apple computers here on the island, expecially since its just easier for people to use a pirated copy of windows xp, or if your like me you have linux. Look online prices are similiar but if you want to get a feel for one you'll have to go to bangkok.

The one in Chaweng seemed to be still open last time I checked? Is it really gone? It's on the beach road towards the south end.
