Transporting dvds

I've been in Thailand a while and am looking at travelling home -- I've taken great advantage from all the local street DVD movies but have only now thought about travelling home and the potential customs issue.  Anyone out there have any words of advice or stories to tell?

I have always brought movies back with me and if Customs checked me out, they never had a real problem with it.  I wouldnt worry.

I just returned from Thai with Khun Wifey and brought back about 15 DVD's and VCD's, A mixture of good old karaoke and movies for me and some buddies, Put them in the bottom of my bag and no problems, And also my numb nut friends didn't tell me their UK DVD's weren't multi region so i've kept them for myself !!! Tee Hee
i've never heard of anyone having a problem bringing dvd's or software homw to whrever....but- i just ordered some dvd's from amazon.com. got a notice to go down to the local post office  to pick them up... the duty was 40%. and no negotiating. i had a letter from the university where i teach saying they were for educational use (written in thai)- the guy just looked at me and pointed at the customs slip. i refused to pay and now the discs on are their way back to amazon....
My uncle got asked if he had any copywrited materials when he returned Stateside from a multi country SEA trip. He thought he might get into more trouble if he lied so he said yes he had few DVDs and 15 CDs. They took them all, an that was that.
