From Trang To Perhentian Island Malaysia

Featured Replies

hi,

me & the wife are going to see her family near trang in october flying via kuala lumpur.

we're having 5 or 6 days with them & then 7 or 8 days holiday so i decided if we've got to end up back at KUL airport we might as well holiday back in malaysia instead of thailand for a change.

I have looked into it & the west coast at this time of year is bad weather( if someone can confirm or deny this i'd be grateful).

So i thought i'd look for somewhere on the east coast which the weather looks better(comments same as above please).

the Perhentian islands look quite nice but i need to find out how to get there.

i think we would have to get a bus from trang to hat yai then to the border then to kota bharu.

has anyone ever done this trip or does anyone have any info , times prices etc.

my wife is a thai bhudist & is worried about traveling in the far south of thailand .

has she anything to worry about.

& lastly what visa's will i need as i don't think she will need one.

All info would be greatly accepted.

thanks

I think your best bet would be to go from Trang to Hat Yai and head down to the Perhentian islands that way. They do close down every year, and I think they may be closed in October. best to call a few resorts and check first.

You don't have to signal a social conscience by looking like a frump. Lace knickers won't hasten the holocaust, you can ban the bomb in a feather boa just as well as without, and a mild interest in the length of hemlines doesn't necessarily disqualify you from reading Das Kapital and agreeing with every word. ~Elizabeth Bibesco
