So Thad... when you get your hands on the Jaffa Cakes, will you scoff the lot, scoff one pack and try and save the rest or eat one a day for the next couple of months ?

Or share em out amongst the locals ? :D

totster :)

The jaffa cakes survived the trip (for the most part,a few crumbliness but not too bad considering) so what do I do with them now? Post or do you fancy a trip to Khon Kaen & we could try to arrange a night out with Maokaang?

A trip to Khon Kaen would be good, but it isn't really an option at the moment, there is a lot of crap going on around here that I could do with getting away from, but I am compelled to stay and deal with it. Would they survive the post without going all melty? I would doubt it, perhaps Paul's kids would be better off enjoying them in almost pristine condition.

My parents always taught me to share, but they didn't do a very good job :)

it's always good to have a Tim Tam or two, so long as the Mint Slice doesn't find out. :)

^yes its not good to let your worlds collide. I like to keep my tim tams in the freezer. :)

Have you tried them with hot coffee. Take one out of the freezer, bite both ends off, thern use the biscuit like a straw and suck the coffee up.....you have to be quick; once the inside is melted, gobble the entire thing....delish.

If my Mint Slice caught me doing that with a Tim Tam she'd be very jealous.

You could deep fry them and create a new traditional English dish.

Yes I have tried that, it works with just about any liquid substance.

mmmmm tim tams, living proof that everything that tastes good adds fat particles to the body :D

The Scots would claim it first.

Well, with some justification. Wasn't that culinary masterpiece, the deep fried Mars Bar, created there?

Glasgow I believe.

I was actually offered one as a dessert in an Australian restaraunt recently! :)

Decided not to get anything, haven't been back.

I have never tried the deepfried mars bar, however, a scottish mate of mine raves about them. He says the melted mars bar in the salty batter is an experience to be had. I'm not so sure though! :)

When deep fried Mars Bar makes it onto the menu of a Michelin rated restaurant I'll consider trying it.

Until then, if Mars Bars were meant to be fried they'd be sold by fish and chip shops.

That's where you buy them in Scotland!

Probably do a decent bit of cod and chips as well.

I wonder who was the first to actually eat one though? And Jonathon Swift said the first to to eat an oyster was a brave man.

I'll tell you all what is happening today, and why, a little later, maybe tomorrow, I could be busy.

I think some of these posts need to be moved to the Chocolate thread

:)

I believe TimTams, Nutella's and Kinder Bueno are some of the world's biggest invention :D

Oki..... so as not to divert the Klown's thread, I'll do it here (it's where it should be anyway)

There has been that much yap yap and gossip about myself and Yoon over the last few months we thought that we may as well draw a line under it.

Yesterday we went down to the village early in the morning and had a squat down party with only the close relatives in attendance, a bit of food, quite a bit of beer and Lao Khao, a little bit of string tying and a couple of gold rings.

We opened the bar later and told people as they arrived that the beer was free for that night, when they asked why we showed them the third finger and wrists bound with string, it was a good day and I don't remember much of the latter stages of it.

And now, all the locals know that we are married Thai style and all the ex-pats know that we are a real couple and all the gossip and back-stabbing by certain members of the community, Thai and Farang, becomes pointless.

I think that there is only one regular contributor to Bedlam that has ever met Yoon and that would be Dave the Dude, he can tell you what a great little lady she is, she's a sandwich short of a picnic sometimes, but I love her to bits.

Well done you little devil you...............

Soon be lots of littlr fork tailed Imps to eat the neighbours cats and other passing children
