For the blinking and animated Avatars, click on Esc, this freezes them, I have just tried this with Ads and it froze them too, but not sure if this works all the time, as for the inserted ads, they should only be after the very first post on each page unless you are viewing as a Guest.

Are you getting them at other times Lan?

Moss

Mostly after the first post, but often overwritten a post too. I assume TV is aware of that.

Appreciate the input guys, I've brought your points up with the other mods and admin :o

....and ?

Um, did you look at the time posted? Give us a break, we are across time zones and each have lives to lead. Do you really expect a solution within 45 minutes?

.....and I'll post our thoughts on the subject in a few days time.

Fairly painless, really.

Excellent !

WE must now make sure that the Farang pub gets properly populated with new topics, not let it get stagnant

Totster :o

Totster, please explain to my missus that I'll be out 'til the wee small hours every night for the next week in selfless dedication to research for the resurrection of TV's Farang Pub forum. Can start immediately. :o

Just noticed posts in "Jokes" don't count in your post count.

I guess all those word games will just fade out.

Well, if people were only posting in there to make their post count go up then I guess it's no bad thing.

I checked it out too. I notice that since the move, Maechanman hasn't made any posts at all. Coincidence? (He's currently sitting on 433. Looks like he'll have to 'earn' the other 67 if he wants to get into/lurk here.)

I didn't know that had been implemented as well, another good change.

Just noticed you and Tywais did the mind numbing work on this, so thanks for that, I have just ventured back into the Pub after a long dry spell, I think it is and will be much better, for some of us anyway, I guess the Toys will be thrown by some I guess.

Thanks anyway.

I believe that access can be granted to individuals with less than 500 posts,

500 posts seems too small for me. I have been way too open about my real life over the years as TV grew to allow me to comment and perhaps draw attention upon myself anymore. (I was a mod for quite a few years, and have notched up a few posts)

There are a bunch of us, who have either spent many years (for me, over 5 years), or many posts learning about each other, interacting and generally taking the p1ss.

We should have a 2000 + (or similar) post forum too...perhaps the updated 'Out of the Box'.

How many of us 2003's left?

I'm still here...sort of. :o

the raison d'être of Farang Pub

Wow, way too fancy wording for the subject matter. :D

You all act like you are discussing world peace in a forum at Oxford. C'mon, folks, this is an internet forum! Context!

:o

Oh, and case you don't get it, they play quizzes, word games and trivia in real pubs all the time. What do you want it cleaned up for, threads about American Idol and Tokyo Joe's? Give me a break.

:D But, well done, well done.

Jim,

Have you read the arguments for and against?

Good Luck

<deleted>... just trying to kick start things. ( Thinking pub talk )

Anyway, I'm sure it will disappear out of view after you post your myriad of interesting topics...

And, are you telling me that you go to the pub and play Change A Letter or The Three Word Story! or the Five Word International Story ?? Wow, I want your life, what fun ! How do you decide who goes first :D :D

Sad that it seems you don't have a dic... :o

Acrtually, if you remember when bedlam started, 500 posts was a huge number. There were not so many people with a post count that high. If you were to put it into perspective, 500 posts back then was probably equivalent to 2, 3 or perhaps even 5000 posts now.

Perhaps those who are firm on wishing an increase to 1,000 posts have a point, then?

I'd be happy with an increase to 1000 posts.

Is there anyone who posts here regularly who has between 500 and 1000 posts? Just to check we'd not be excluding any valued posters by increasing the limit...

They can make exceptions for people who already post here, and I'm sure they would. It may pay those with less than 1000 posts who want to stay to put their hands up.

In any event, if it's going to go ahead, I'm happy to PM any affected people who have previously advised their presence in the pinned 'Welcome One and All' thread, and either refer them here or advise them of the situation and suggest they PM a delegated Mod.

Ping I did some early work for you.

You need to check out pages 24 - 47 in the members list. (I think there are 20 members per page)

Members such as miltonbentley, OldAsiaHand, VegasVic, legag, H2oDunc, colino, Gravelrash, Yorkie,

Methinks you are going to be busy

Thanks Ken, but if it is to happen, I'll only be contacting those who have announced themselves in the above-mentioned thread, and I'll only go back 2 years (I was only going to go back eg, I note legag has only made 23 posts in the past twelve months). Anyone who escapes the net will doubtless contact forum support. It seems rather pointless to do it any other way.

I pressed the button accidentally (twice, apparently). Above post should say:

E: Amend & emend

My response would be to have certain Fora count nil toward the count, that way at least people have to contribute something to any board.

If it were deemed that posting in Bedlam were to count as nil, why, I'd be kicked out! :o

I'd set the bar at say...........5431......... Much better class of person around there.

Yes, your right. 500 was a hard number to reach back then.

Now, people that answer or comment on every thread, get 500 in a few months.

There are alot of topics that have been read before but they are now worded differently and I do not find interesting enough to post the same answers.

Maybe years in Thailand has affected me.

I know what you mean Jeff.... I get the voices inside my head too .... plus I sleep-type :o

I hope I never need a drink that badly.
