Exceeding Three 30day-tourist Visas Within 90 Days

Featured Replies

I need help - quick! :o)

I arrived in Thailand on the 28th of December 2008 and am now on my third 30 day tourist visa and should leave the country latest on the 24th of march (first tourist visa on arrival in december, after that two trips to vietnam and back to thailand). as i have to be at work in mid april and want to stay in thailand until then i was planning to fly down to kuala lumpur and come back on a 30-day tourist visa.

a friend of mine told me that i might have problems, as there is a law that doesnt allow you to have more than three 30-day tourist visas within a period of 90 days. is this true? is there a way around it? could i go to the thai embassy in KL and get a 60 day visa? anyway around it would be of great help!

First thing . You have Visa Exempt Entries . Not Visas.

Second. There is no limit on how many you can get back to back. That rule finnished months ago.

Third. If entering Thailand by land you will only get 15 days. By air it is 30 days.

The law your friend was referring to has been abolished. You can have as many 30 day Visa Exempt entries as you want. You could also get a Tourist Visa from a local, friendly Thai embassy or consulate.

At the moment Tourist Visas are free if you want to get one.
