Yes, if it is your Thai wife (G/F??) and you show your drivers license and have insurance. In the case where you pay cash for the car you can pretty much put the in whoever name.

Sure.. But any reason why not to have it in your name ?? Even if its for another persons use.

i thought it was not possible without the resisency letter from the immigration. I will be paying cash and have a non immigrant o visa

No.It can be in your name.

Many Thais will come up with many reasons why it should be in their name. I wonder why?

or a letter from immigration.. or a work permit.. or a house book..

Not exactly hard to get.. And I run out of fingers counting the expats I personally know who wished in the end it was really in their name.

Amen to that! Soon mostly owned by refinance companies. Secure the registry document in a safe place.
