Buy new, yes if it is a Vigo or D-Max, as a year old one has lost very little.

If your looking for a bargain, then a low mileage Ford Ranger XLS TDCi at 1 year old is around 350 - 400,000, so about 200,000 cheaper !!!

The Mazda BT-50 Hi-Racer, is about the same price but cost more new..

as is the Chevrolet Colorado the face lift model also about the same price for a 1 year old one.

1 year old Mitsubishi Triton will have lost about 100 - 130,000

1 year old Nissan FRONTIER about the same

1 year old D-Max will have lost about 70 -100,000

1 year old Vigp about the same

Of course it depends on the model spec. and if you want new.

The cheapest for running costs is the D-Max, followed by the Colorado

For the redbook, the car specifications are not necessarily accurate. It says my car is a 4 speed auto, when in fact its a 5 speed. The kerb weight is correct, but quotes the new honda civic as being over a 100 kgs lighter than mine when in fact it's heavier. Best to check the actual car sites for specifications. I can't comment about quoted prices (cost is 100 baht), but online car sites like www.one2car.com give a good indication of asking prices from the car tents.

Ditto - good website but some inaccuracies.

It states that the Nissan Navara Calibre is fitted with the engine that's in the Navara 4x4, but that is not the case, its the 144hp one thats in the 4 x2.

Similar with the weights, apparently the Isuzu 4 door highlanders are some 270 kg.s lighter than the similar Nissan Navara model, well if that is the case it may explain why they are quicker away from the lights- (occaisonally!)
