I hold a Non Immigrant O Multi Entry 1 year visa. My first 90 days going to be over in May first week therefore i am thinking if i can do a visa run to Laos during this Songkran week. I am going to Khon Kaen on 11th April so from there i can do direct to Laos.

So before i go Laos shall i get Laos visa from Bangkok? if so what are the documents required?

Can i come back from Laos on the same day to Thailand and will i get 90 days again?

You can obtain visa at border - or take the train across and get at station in Laos (faster service). You can return and get a new 90 day entry. You will need a photo or two and money for visa (USD gets better exchange rate).

You can get at border (long waits sometimes) or at the train station inland from the border if you take the train across (most people don't know about that option yet).

Have a stupid question...

Let's say I get the exit stamp at the Mukdahan border. Take the bus to cross the friendship bridge then turn around without entering Laos and go back in Thailand.

Possible, or the thai immigration will look for the Laos visa, entering & exit stamps? Don't eve answer me. Guess I'll have to pay.

I'm attending to make my visa run this week. on the 15th. There is no problem, Right?

not many replies here in this thread, and I dont know answers either.

Maybe all THAIVISA members are living in Pattaya, Phuket or Bangkok.......but I guess there is at least someone here from Issaan!?

Is it possible to apply for a Non Immigrant Visa in Laos too? Somebody here any experiences with the Thai-Vietiane Embassy?

Not sure what answers are left from OP.

Yes you can get a non immigrant visa from Thai consulate in Vientiane. It will only be a single entry though.

What non immigrant do you want to get?

The questions in this thread had been fully answered. There was no question about getting a Non immigrant visa in this thread - the poster had the visa.

Yes it is possible to apply for a non immigrant visa in Laos.

helo. when i cross the border and go to laos and come back to thailand border to get the 90 days stamp do i have to show any documents? im new to border crossing and never did!

also can someone tell me is it better to go Khon Kaen by bus or train? the plane is too expensive.. The train call centre 1690 is busy whole day. i couldnt contact anyone from there. is there any other way to contact them?

You should be going to Udon or Nong Khai to cross into Laos I would think. Trains are normally slower than bus but more comfortable unless you pay for VIP bus service. You can visit any train station for tickets/information.

I thought that you were going to Khon Kaen 11th April? Obviously a change of plan.

I haven't done the trip to Khon Kaen by train, but if you can get an overnight sleeper with a bunk it's definitely better than the bus and safer.

You are right not to travel by air unless you have somebody to meet you. TukTuks and taxis from the airport are really expensive because you have no choice - same in Udon so a friend tells me.

Try to avoid the weekend when you go to Laos, they add surcharges to everything as overtime rate and its much busier. Weekdays are better and as early in the morning as you can get there. It's so much quicker at 9AM than midday.

i have two needs. 1 to cross the border and 2nd to get my marriage registration certificate from Khon Kaen. i am going with my lovely wife.
