Basically they randomly shut the city down at 1am, this has been going on for several months at least and is the current policy, that could change at any time.

I guess the official closing time is still 1am. Not so long ago they enforced in on Cowboy with police patrols checking that all places had lights on and doors open at 1am. This will slip back to 2 or 2.30 as it has been for a while now. Who knows, new boss on Thong Lo station negotiating new deals ?

Rumor is the under 21 son of prominent politician got in a bit of trouble at a late night club a few weeks ago and police across Bangkok are enforcing the legal 1:00AM closing times.

Not bitter..........but as a family man living and working in that area it is a nusisance and thats what I feel........OK I choose to stay there but hey it was a mere comment........Ever tried getting a Subway sandwhich on the way to work...impossible without being accosted by 20 or 30 ladies of the night........want a MacDonlds...the bench is full of prostitutes....the whole area is a cesspit with literally thousands of hookers...

Why ignorant............go there, see the place for yourself.......its exactly as I said, I can assure you as I am there on an almost daily basis....if you dont mind being accosted by dirty women that sell their body for a few quid then maybe it is the place for you....ok you can get cheap CDs etc granted

I can't understand why, if he hates that area so much that he chooses to live there. It's not exactly a cheap area to live in, so there are plenty of other options that are convenient and less sleazy.

I don't know him, so I could not really say for sure. But I realize some people would live there to be reminded on a daily basis of their ownm "moral superiority."

Then again, there would be the Carrie Nation Syndrome folks, those who like it and revel in it yet decry their disgust and horror at it to show others (and perhaps themselves) that they are not fascinated by the lifestyle.

You're joking right? Around closing time it's like every few meter there's a few from Suk Soi 5 until Asoke. Never counted them but for sure 100+ I would guess.
