I need to get an account with an ATM card. I'll have a Non Immi O visa and thai DL so it won't be a problem. Would like to open the Acct in Bangkok and use a branch in Patong. Is Bank of Bangkok good?

I have 3 bank accounts in Bangers,Suk Rd,Super Rich and an old one that I have never used in Silom with B.B ...and no problems.(about 15 years -no money)

Only ever travelled on a 30 visa on arrival.

My friend just arrived in Phuket on a 6 months tourist visa, and opened his bank account with Bank of Ayuthaya. He paid something like 250 baht for an ATM card. Easy peasy.

I have been with SCB for 13 years without a visa, and no problems and a good service.

You should have your bank account in the city that you will use your ATM card or you will be paying out of region fees every time you use it.
