"It is understood Mr Toumaniantz has withdrawn his offer to pay for the removal of the tattoos and will now get written consent before tattooing clients." (from miggy's link).

I dont recall if i was ever asked to sign anything, but you would think for certain areas of the body, or certain ages that should be standard. Anyway..hard lesson learnt i guess..from both parties.

Well, maybe this is a sort of 'happy' ending! Poor kid.

That 'poor kid' has effectively made a false accusation of being seriously assaulted by the tatooist, possibly causing him a significant loss of business and the associated hardship. The bloke may look like a freak, but he deserves more sympathy than that scheming, self-serving pest of his client.

Ooooh, how very harsh ping, she's only a kid and this was a life affirming mistake. I just hope she turns out okay...

I personally see it as wake up call to this bloke, he should have some moral responsibility to whom he is having some life changing activity on, yes she asked for it, it doesn't mean he has to perform the service without certain checks and balances.

The father went to the pub for chances sake,

the teenager wanted to be different,

the proprietor inflicted 50! tattoos on a teenagers face

In order of merit who is at fault

It comes back to what I said before - any request for tattoo work should carry a mandatory 'cooling off' period. Nonetheless, in the current case, if she is of age and asks for the work to be done and subsequently makes outrageous claims of the bloke inflicting the work on her without consent, then yes - time she grew up.

E: To clarify, my issue in this is with the girl weaving her web of deceit and accusing the bloke of assaulting her. The merits of him doing the work in the first place is a separate issue.

In any work I have had done there has been a de facto cooling off period simply because the artist is booked ahead. I know there are places that have plenty of time between clients but any artist who is very good and known will not take walk ins if only because they don't have a vacancy.

I feel sorry for the girl - she has now got something that will affect her for life. Like it or not she will be judged by others based on her tattoos. At 18 I don't think she has had the maturity or life experience to make that choice.

I concur :)

I joined the Royal Navy at 16 and was prepared to fight for my country. She is 2 years older and can go to the pub, have kids of her own, vote, go to Jail for wasting police time (not youth custody) and countless other things an ADULT is allowed to do. Hardly a kid IMO Tiggs.

At the time in Switzerland, they had a site where you could put a picture of yourself and get an image of what you would look like with 54 stars on your face.

I think that is a good idea for any young or older person to try.

Throw on a picture of your thigh, shoulder, buttock, back etc., and try out different tatts.

And, yes, she was a silly teenager who thought she could get away with it - but didn't.

Unfortunately, now she has to go through a lot of lazer treatment and money and pain and scarring to cover up her silliness.
