Looking For Visa Advice

Featured Replies

Howdy have a question for yall. Im 39, retired, married to a US girl and living in the states. Im looking to retire to Thailand and was wondering what would be the best visa to have for extended stay for both me and my wife.

I was thinking of doing the educational visa as I want to improve my Thai anyway but I guess at most it would only be good for a few years. What advice can yall give me. Thanx much

An ED visa would be a good visa and exension to start with. Then investigate the possibility of sarting or investing in a business or company so you could get a work permit, visa and later an extension.

There are not many options due to your age. A multiple entry non-o visa is not easy to get in the states. You could make a trip to Perth after you get here and get one. It would mean making border runs every 90 days.

If you have 10 million baht to invest you could get an extension and later permanent residence. The investment can be in a condo, goverment bonds, fixed term account (CD) or all 3.

Mmy brother lives in Thailand and is married to a Thai would that help with a non-O visa? Also if denied for the non-O would that hurt my chances to get an ed visa?

In theory, it would not have any effect on your own visa.
