I am coming to Bangkok to see my 41 year old Thai girl friend. She's coming in from Khon Kaen.

It will be almost 7 months since we have been together. (I'm working in the Middle East and this is my longest separation time.)

I am planning on taking her to Siam Niramit for the cultural show, but would like to go shopping before hand.

Can you recommend a nice place to purchase formal wear? I'd like to go from the gold store for a necklace, to the dress store (somewhere where they pamper her) then to the Salon and then to the dinner & show.

Anything else you can think of to throw into the surprise would be appreciated.

I guess I'm thinking cocktail dress, but not sure. I want to make sure we dress so we fit in with the Siam Niramit theatre crowd. So if they wear cocktail dresses than that's what I'd like to shop for.

I basically want a special day for her from the moment we see each other in the airport in the morning until she hits her pillow after an exhaustingly great day. Something like a spa, shopping for a baht or two of gold, a nice outfit, salon treatment, then dress up for dinner and a show.

In short, a day to remember.

Beyond that, I'm open to any ideas that hit the objective!

Ooh, dont' know what the Siam Niramit crowd wears, sorry But you could probably get away with a very nice cocktail length dress anywhere (as opposed to a floor length gown).

Nice dresses, hmmm. Well, Siam Paragon would be the place I would hit first.
