2 photos, Non-Immigrant status, old license, proof of address. No doctor required. Fee 550 Baht.

- this is for the 5 year licence, right George?

And I believe you must apply on the day AFTER the old one has expired. (I'm looking to renew soon).

I think the first renewl is for a one year only and then susequent renewals are for 5. Re renewal the day AFTER, I was in PPTO on a friday and they would not let someone renew their licence which expired the following sunday.

RDN: Yes, the 5 year. You have two options when renewing for the first time: Continue with 1 year license or go for a 5 year one.

Correct RDN. You must apply on the day AFTER the old one has expired, otherwise they give you only one year.
