So Madoff had a bit on the side

http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=206...id=aKMd6KBEnngE

and so did Berlusconi

http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=206...id=a6.lE3T56aCo

and so did Clinton

and Blaire

and all the French prime ministers

So what the fuc_k? Who cares?

Why on earth do these bitches think that what they have to say is interesting? And really, why does Bloomberg have to put it up there on the web site?

As long as the guy does his job, then what is the problem with poking a bit on the other court? Comes with the territory.

"Because I could", the most honest statement a politician has ever issued. Even if it came after a load of devious bullshit.

Genuinely honest people never consider politics as a job.

there is an old saying "politicians are not born, they are excreted."

I believe that it's considered scandalous because as men in power, they are supposed to have a high level of integrity. We are supposed to trust them. If their own wives, whom these men supposedly love, can't trust them, how can the general public.

Perhaps if investors knew about Madoff's indiscretions earlier, fewer punters would have been burned.

Having a bit on the side can also mean that you are open to bribery. Not a good position for the country if the chap being bribed is privvy to state secrets.

Check out the criminal records of politicians throughout the world. The stats are scary.

Or even blackmailed, 60's UK. Russian naval attache` and a government minister having the same bit of skirt. Couldn't make it up.

Regards.

Well, precisely, don't make it such an issue and the bribery/blackmail problems simply fade away.

It's not the bit on the side that's the problem, it's the fact they lie about it to cover it up. When Aussie Prime Minister Rudd was reported to have been in a lap dance club prior to the last election he said "ÿeah, that was I" and his popularity rating went up a few more points.

Perhaps he should go back there, he needs to bring his ratings up again.

Politicians are real people. It's only their PR that puts them on a pedestal. How could anyone believe a politician was squeaky clean ? If you beleive that then you probably also believe that by voting for them they can fix the world's problems.

Politicians are real people.

No they aren't, real people are made mostly of water with a smattering of some basic elements. Politicians are made mostly of water, some inert elements and quite a bit of hot air.
