No, the Westgate.

The only place closer to the station is the YHA, I didn't think of this place, from what I have heard it is OK, I'll try and find out more tomorrow.

The one thing that really worries me is do I need to bring a ball gown or can I manage with a party frock? :)

Definately the ball gown. It is Oxford after all. :)

While you're there you could pop into the Turf Tavern, one of Oxford's finest pubs, and definitely the hardest to find (unless you're in the know :))

Sounds like a plan :D

That's a worry

If someone can send me their mobile number I can call you when I arrive.

999 will get you straight through

Well, I am in the know and it is also one of my favourite pubs, still has part of the original city wall running through it and is also one if the older buildings in the city.

Oh & ask her about 4 men in Kilts too :D:)

She wont be too shocked when she meets four men in frocks then. :D

Did I just say that out loud :D

I'm not quite sure if I ought to ask this but what's an 'Oxford Moot'? It's not some sort of unspeakable ceremony perpetrated on visitors to Oxford is it?

Did she enjoy the Fringe Festival in Edinburgh on her way to Aberdeen? Hope so...

I heard it involves gaffer tape, camoflage paint, baked beans and the toe nail clippings from a real life academic....

totster :)

Dewdrop Inn in Summertown.... Shees it took me two days to remember!!

Not a bad boozer - but a bit further away than these guys will likely be I think.

You may well be right, if Scouse has anything to do with it, you wont be able to speak due to the gargle after a few hours.

A 'Moot', is a meeting to discuss important events in the world and attempt to put them right.

Yeah Right :)

No one further showing interest :D my reputation marches before me :D

Did a short trial run yesterday, took some pics but I had finger prints over the lens so pretty classy outcome.

Agenda:

2.00pm meet up at the Kazbar, Cowley Road.

More Later,

Rugby just started

No worries, I am sure it will be fun. Will see you then :)

Yeah Right :)

I consider that that point is moot.

Has any meeting discussed the important events of the world and ever put anything right - permanently?

Most such discussions produce temporary solutions at best - and temporary solutions at worst. The few that produce no solution whatsoever are the only worthwhile meetings.

First meeting will be at approx 1.30 on Saturday @ Las Iguanos on Hythe Bridge Street.

As you leave the station, walk out toward the main road and turn left, you will see the Oxford Hotel, made of orangy/brown coloured stone in front of you, take the road to the right hand side of the Hotel, which is Park End Street, follow that road for approx 200 metres and Iguanos is on the right, the Dukes Cut ( formerly Molly Malones ) is on the left.

sbk, do you want a lift?

Toasted, I wont be able to make the Priory for Two and I know you are off to the match, so maybe you can make it here, or we will have to meet another time.

Scouse will be with me, unless he gets caught in traffic, otherwise he will have to catch us up.

We will catch up with endure a little later.

endure, you turn right as you leave the station road, over the bridge and cross over the road and you are there.

My brother will also be meeting up, just to moderate myself and Scouse regarding the finer points of Irish Politics and to bail me out of the Big House later in the early hours

See you all there

sent you deets, maybe meet me at my b and b? I get lost going around the corner :)

I get lost going around the corner :D

In that case you might just end up in the right place, Iguanos is on Park End St not Hythe Bridge St :)

See you at the Hotel as it is on the way, or across the road at the Sports Bar.
