Can I Enter Thailand W/ A 60 Day Visa And Not Use It?

Featured Replies

Ok so here is the question:

I am going to Laos next month to get a double entry 60 day visa. When I re-enter Thailand, can I get a 15 day arrival visa instead of using the 60 day visa? I'm asking because I'm leaving Thailand in mid-october and don't want to use up a 60 day visa when I'm only going to be here for a week.

Thanks,

Andrew

All you can do is ask - they may allow it. But remember you only have 90 days from date of issue to but both tourist visa entries.

Members have reported doing this but usually at the airport. As said ask and see what they say.

Quite a common occurrence for those who can actually plan ahead. Sometimes used by people arriving on cruises and then coming back for an extended stay post cruise.

Of course, you might get some guy in a foul mood at immigration but if you ask for the 15 day stamp, then they should just give it to you.

I have experience in this regard. It was at airport and I wanted to preserve the 2 entries on a triple entry tourist visa. I requested a 30 days stamp and they had me sign that I didn't want to use an entry. Later I discovered that I signed to negate an entry and got 30 days and only 1 entry left on the tourist. so I'm saying the answer is no
