CMTR Playground Plus! San Tor School, Hang Dong District.

September 30, we will meet at Richco Motorsports (Harley Davidson) in Chiang Mai at 10:00AM. A planned departure time of 10:30AM will take us to San Tor School in Hang Dong. At this school of approximately 73 children, age 5-12 years of age, we will have lunch, snacks, games and a clown.

As part of our Playgrounds Plus program we will donate a Ping Pong table (table tennis), athletic equipment, games and a computer; which were items requested by the students and staff. We will also, for the first time, be donating backpacks/book bags bearing the CMTR logo which have been custom made for the Chiang Mai ToyRide. Also books and other educational material selected with the aid of the school staff will be donated.

Please come join us for the ride, the fun, and to help the children!

Hoping very much that this years Toy Ride was a success!

Would very much like to attend but very difficult with the event being mid-week.

Any chance of making it a weekend event next year? I think you'd attract a lot more bikers from other parts of the country if it was on a weekend.

Happy Trails!

Yes the San Tor charity event was a success.

The Chiang Mai Toy Ride has a main fund raising ride for which the next one is Sunday 21 Feb 2010. Then during the year we use the money to donate needy stuff to schools & villages around Chiang Mai. Normally there are 4-5 charity events during the year. So the Chiang Mai Toy Ride is not just a one-off flash in the pan show once a year - we like to ride & help out all year round.

Also despite the name, the Chiang Mai Toy Ride is not just about toys, but has made donations to

• Wiang Piang orphanage - toys & new playground equipment

• Clothes, blankets, sporting equipment to poor Karen hill tribe villagers out of Samoeng - Mai Lan Kham & Bo Kaew, 2 separate events

• Toys, clothes, blankets, sporting equipment to a poor Karen hill tribe school east of Chiang Dao

• Built a complete new toilet block for a poor school out of Mae Rim

• Every Christmas Eve we make the rounds of Suan Dok hospital to visit terminally kids & give them toys.

All these events are very rewarding & any motorcyclist is welcome to join in on the day or make a donation to the Chiang Mai Toy Ride.

Look at the Chiang Mai ToyRide website for more info if you are interested.

Thanks for the interest Tony and we would love to have you along. As David stated, the main Chiang Mai ToyRide is scheduled for a weekend. This is when we do draw bikes from all over and hope for large turnouts.

The school events are much smaller and, in most cases, need to be held when the kids and the teachers are in school.
