Katoeys' bike taken at gunpoint

news537-march2005.jpg

A description of the bike and the men were radioed around but so far nothing has turned up

A 6am on March 22, Police Lieutenant Colonel Preechar Samrit, inquiry inspector at Soi 9 stationhouse was on duty when he received a visit from three katoeys complaining that their bike had been stolen at gunpoint.

Tanatchai Siraatip, 18, the only named one of the three, explained that he and his two friends had been riding on a red Yamaha Mio on Walking Street when four men on two Honda Waves approached the three and positioned them with great one-liner, "do you fancy riding around Pattaya with us". Bizarrely, this worked and the excited boy/girls followed the men around Pattaya. At Bali High Pier they all stopped and this where everything turned sour. One of the men produced a gun and pointed it at the three ladyboys, demanding they hand over their bike. This of course they did very quickly and one of the men jumped on it and all four drove away. The katoeys then had a very long walk back to the police station.
