I Love It When

You send off your paper work hoping for a tax rebate and they send you correspondence regarding an additional bill for non recovered taxes of two years ago. :)

I then receive correspondence regarding a much larger rebate in regard to last year and then the wife says I can get myself a particularly good Malt.

Any recommendations?

Talisker or Laphroaig were my personal favorites. The Macallen is the popular choice but personally I find it a little sweet.

Totally agree with scead here. Although I don't find the Macallen too sweet! Laphroaig is my all time fav.

Glenfiddich single malt, and my fave nite cap, Taylors Vintage Port

Seems a lot of mates call in to welcome me back.

Wunda why?

Try this. It's the single malt that's been active on my shelf for the past few months. It's lurvely!

Maybe, just maybe

When you get home from work and you've had a case of wine delivered. It just make me feel happy :) to have a full winerack - well, actually 2 full wineracks!

Tried that one year, just before Christmas, 2 cases of good wine. Gone in the week before Chrismas, had to order more. Not available before the New Year. So we had to drink "crap wine" for two weeks.

Wasn't me...

Another time, they delivered two cases of wine and left it in front of my door. I waited and waited and finally called the suppliers. Well, some c-word in my building had stolen my wine!!! The suppliers sent the same amount plus two extra bottles to keep me in their good books. Funny thing was, we had a sort of drinky party with the neighbours and I noticed that one <deleted> arrived with a bottle of wine like the one I had ordered in the first order. So, I just stood beside that bottle and drank most of it....

I love it when, as happened yesterday, the 3 toe-rags that were caught ransacking my house got arrested for burglary....and the little dickheads stole my small stash (kept for the occassional nightcap toke and parties), so got done for possession too! LOL!

^ lol...

(ermm... hope to be in NZ soon... :) )

Bummer of a story there patsy. However, I have mine delivered to my back door when I'm not in. I have an average of a case a month delivered so the delivery men know me by name. And I just wouldn't drink 'crap wine'! :)

I'm pleased to be living in a neighbourhood, since a fortnight, where the postman can drop off a parcel in the shrub next to my front door with a little delivery card popped into the mail box that says:

Mr [Klown],

I have left you your BT broadband pack in the shrub next to your front door. Welcome to the neighbourhood, as you've probably guessed, this is a peaceful place.

Signed....

^ ^^

Reminds me of when my wine gets dropped off, always by the back gate, except on one occasion, when we got the card through the door and it said, 'left by back gate' as usual.

But no box.

Went into the garage and the box was there!!

Rang the company and requested what was was going on.

After checking with the driver, they rang back and said, 'he wasn't happy about leaving it by the back gate, so opened the garage and dropped it in there.'!!

It was locked!! He had access to the house because we never lock the adjoining door.

I admire his diligence, but wow, a wake up call indeed.

and def better than the protocols broken by my postie stalker.....more than ten year ago..and still vivid!

It was the look on that man's face as he opened "his" nice little bordeaux and i clocked in on him... Shifty eye movements along with his slurpy slappy lips as he tasted it. <deleted>, it was 25 swiss francs a bottle....

Tasted nice though... And in the end so did the "crap" stuff!!!

My seatback video didn't work on the flight over, so the flight attendant gave me a little card to go online and get a free "gift" from United airlines. Expecting some sad clock or some such other cheap crap, imagine my very pleased surprise to receive 9000 miles to my ff account!!! I don't watch the seatback video anyway, so it was no big loss but that extra 9000 miles earns me the same amount of miles as a one way trip back to the US! Woo hoo!

When many US airlines request volunteers to give up their seats.

Happens a lot at Honalulu.

Nutha nite for free 100 bucks extra spending, free nite accommodation.

Top it off when claiming travel insurance for being delayed.

Usually enuff $$$$$$$s in compensation for ya next trip, when added to airline compensation for being a nice person helping them out.

Dun it 3 times.

I love it when you meet someone for the first time and they really go the extra mile. We moved our church group to a new venue today and the caretaker (called George) was just a top bloke, really helpful and friendly. Made the change of venue a less stressful experience.

I love it when I stumble across positive thread such as this one.

My malt recommendation is Glenfiddich, beats the rest (that I have tried) hands down but then it was a 21 yr old.

how do you try whiskies with your hands down?

:)

Oi've got to get me one of those....
