Tourist Visa Extensions In Bangkok

Featured Replies

Hi Guys, sorry to flog a dead horse.. I have searched for info and read what was on offer, but being the dumb-ass I am, I must ask....

I am on a double entry Tourist Visa, have stayed my first 60days in the Kingdom as of Wednesday the 25th..

To extend my visa for 30 days do I have to go to the new Immigration Department on Chaengwattana Road ??

Or is the old Department building looking after Tourists???

If so (using the new office)... I'm staying at VP Tower, off Rangnam Road (Victory Monument). My search reveals that I can take either a bus or van to the new office..

Where do I get these vans from?? I notice a van station next to Century Shopping Mall ???

Do they drop me off out the front of the new office??

Do I need to wear long trousers and covered shoes to be served???

Sorry for the dumb Q's... I see people like me are getting up others noses...

Cheers guys

Yes you go to Chiang Watanna Road, Soi 7. I would take a taxi door to door it is not the expensive and you would have to change at soi entry with public transport as building is a very, very long walk in sun from main road.

Trousers would be good. And a 4x6cm photo for the TM7 extension of stay form. 1,900 baht for application. Copy of passport data page/visa/entry and departure card.

I would do tomorrow as you lose nothing - starts at end of current permitted to stay. A week early is what I would normally advise.

Cheers mate, very helpful..

Lopburi3 appears to have told you all you need to know.

By the way, I don't think those mini-buses you see close to Century shopping mall go around Bangkok. They go to Hua Hin, Pattaya, and Kanchanaburi I believe.

Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong.

you can take bts to mochit station and cab it from there should be around 200 baht each way

Is there any copyshops/place to take pictures near new immigration? I dont want to hear whining about wrong/bad copies and travel back Siam to get those..

Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong.

yes-just learn to read Thai-they also serve many outer BKK suburban destinations, incl-what a surprise-direct via Expressway to pak Kred aloing Chaeng Wattana. Also suburbs like Minburi, Sapan MaiRangsit and many others. Main route is via Tollway to Rangsit-then the various uni's north of Rangsit. I am aware that is technically not BKK-but it still is Krung Thep Mahanakorn=the BMA area.
