A guy I know is bringing 20 bags of KP nuts with him from the UK. He thinks you can't get them here.

I know a guy who brought 6 jars of Marmite from Pakistan to Thailand. Now he's my mate :o:D

I just got off the bts and at Siam while transferring to the Taksin line I saw a young farang guy in one of those sleeveless vests openly french kissing his thai girlfriend as they travelled down the escalator. I was at the top and had a great view. They got into it a bit too much and moments later the escalator finished and the non-moving floor began - both went flying with a hard smack taking a small group of boy scouts with them.

I tried really really hard not to laugh but I think I failed.

p.s. It's not just the farangs sometimes - on the bts again this morning and two thai girls begin taking photos of all the farangs on the skytrain using their mobile phones..going right up and shoving the phone in their face and clicking away..I said something to the effect of 'tum boi boi mai?' and they looked embarassed and shuffled into the corner. No idea what they were up to.

Som nam naa alright.

Wy don't you write in Thai script then even fewer people will know what you mean?

By the way I do know.

Given what Maerim just said, I should add that 'tum boi boi mai' in my post is my attempt at saying, in Thai, 'Do you do this sort of thing often?'. There's probably a better way of saying it.

Oh jeez last night I saw a trio of bare chested Israelis on Khao San Rd drunk and then one of them puts a plastic 7-11 bag on his head and starts wai-ing the locals.

I wished one of them woulda taken offence.

I saw one idiot go into a bar, ring the bell about 6 times, and ended up with a 30,000 baht bin ! :D

Oh wait, that was me ! :o

too often I see farang guys, walking around in the city without shirt, naked almost, AND Farang girls in their bikini bra, like in the shop etc.

The article i read on the plane from Poo-ket to KrungThep by a Thai, indicated that there is too many tourist that think Thailand is only a big big beach.

Another one, have you seen a white guy in a bar or store, accidently dropping a tenner on the floor, and smack his foot on it to stop it?

LOL.. :o

I will admit to my own Idiotic Tourist Act – while few people actually saw it and those that did all got a god chuckle. :D

Walking down Sukumvit road heading back to the hotel – midday coming back from lunch. Just as I am coming down from one of the cross over footpaths I see a boy in brown making a bee-line in my direction. All of the wonderful stories I have heard in regard to the most hospitable treatment from the boys in brown flashed violently thru my head. :D

I alter my course ever so slightly in hopes that he is not yet locked on to me. Sure enough as a change my course he matches to ensure our merger. I brace my self to smile politely, make a mental note of which pocket the small Baht bills are in – as I do not want to show a 1000 Baht note and loose my bargaining position. :o

Tension is mounting. :D

We meet – I brace for the worst.

Turns out my fly is open :D

- and he just wants to let me know so that I can avoid continuing my journey is such a state. Some of the Thai vendors get a good chuckle – stupid Farang (me) gets egg on his face. And one of the boys in brown has proven to be a fine fellow after all. :D

Indeed many tourists consider Thailand to be one big beach and dress accordingly. Makes one cringe seeing bare chested guys swigging beer whilst walking along Sukhumvit.

Also "shame on you" to the american girl who left Titanium in a rage because to her the sight of Farang guys with younger Thai ladies was "Immoral". Those were her exact words.

a tenner   ...   what's a tenner ?

I was refering to a Ten baht coin then..

Nah, you were alright Thomas... Until a few years ago they did have ten baht notes, but they´ve been mostly phased out since the arrival of the ten baht coin.

(Also, no reason to step on a ten baht coin... It´s unlikely to go flying off in the wind. :o )
