Road closures for Laguna Phuket Triathlon

LAGUNA PHUKET: To ensure the safety of competitors at the 16th Laguna Phuket Triathlon tomorrow morning, traffic restrictions will be in place on certain roads around the resort and in other parts of Thalang District.

The restrictions will begin at 7am on the roads immediately surrounding Laguna and continue until approximately 12:15pm.

A traffic detour will be enforced for all Laguna inbound traffic from 8:15am to 11am.

Inbound traffic will be diverted at the ‘Hideaway Spa’, where drivers will need to turn right and go past Plaza del Mar.

Access to Laguna will be possible through the ‘Laguna Links’ estate.

The Laguna central car park will only be accessible from the Quest-Laguna Beach Resort access road between 7am and 11am, as the Laguna Beach Resort entrance road will be blocked to traffic.

Laguna asks that motorists avoid Route 4030 linking Cherng Talay Police Station, Laguna, Ban Don and Thalang between 7am and 10.45am.

It is especially important to avoid the old airport road (Route 4031) between the hours of 8am and 11am, as this will be completely closed in both directions.

Traffic to and from the airport should use the airport road (Route 4026) linking to Thepkrasattri Road (402).

Please see below for a full list of roads that should be avoided, and at what times.

1. Nai Thon Road (Ban Don to Nai Thon) to Route 4031 (old airport road) junction: 7:30am to 9:15am.

2. Old airport road (4031) from Route 402 to Route 4026 (new airport road) junction: 8am to 11am.

3. Old airport road (4031) from Nai Thon Road junction to Route 4026 junction: 9am to 10:45am (this section of road will be completely closed to all traffic, as there will be two-way bike traffic).

4. Small roads northwest of Thalang: 8:15am to 10:30am

5. Thalang back roads – Route 4030 (Thalang-Cherng Talay Road): 8:30am to 10:30am.

6. Cherng Talay – Talang (4030): 8:30am to 11:45am.

7. All Laguna Phuket roads: 7am to 12:15pm. In particular the following roads will be temporarily closed throughout the morning:

The road from the Laguna entrance gate to the Laguna Beach Resort Y-junction: 7:15 am to 8:15am.

The road from the Laguna Beach Resort Y-junction to Laguna Beach Resort: 7:15am to 11am.
