This morning a transformer on the electric line on Soi 24 Sukhumvit blew up. I thought...wow, this'll take forever to fix. Nope -- less than 50 minutes later everything was up and running.

Some things do work well here.

It depends where this kind of thing happens - afterall, we can't have those hi-so gals shopping in Emporium without lights and aircon can we. :)

Well they say practice makes perfect and these sorts of things happen on a daily basis.

A few years ago the office I was working in near Sriracha was plunged into darkness (well as dark as it could be during daytime) when a truck wandered off the road and took out a power pole. That was it for the rest of the day I thought but no, after a couple of (sweaty) hours we were up and running again.
