Hi,

At the end of the month I will be changing my visa from Non B to Non O. Does anyone know if I have to leave the country to obtain the new visa at a Thai embassy say in Singapore, or would they change it at immigration?

Cheers,

Why would you be doing that? Or are you talking about change of reason for extension of stay for one year? That does not require any visa change. If you provide details or what/where/when/why we can advise with no status known or other information we are in the dark.

Hi,

I’ve been on 1 year Non-B for the last 10 years or so but I’ve now got married so I’m changing to a Non-O 1 year visa based on Marriage. My immigration office is in Laem Ngop (close to Koh Chang). I’ve heard from somewhere that in order for me to change to a marriage visa I would need to leave Thailand and apply at an embassy. Obviously I would want to avoid the hassle.

Up to now have you been on Non B Visas or annual extensions from Immigration?

At the end of the month do you want a Non O Visa or a 12 month extension based on your marriage?

Sorry if it sounds like nitpicking but they are 2 different things.

Next time you are due for extension just write marriage or Thai wife as the reason for extension of stay. And show the financials/wife/photos/home register/ID card/map etc that are used for that type of extension of stay.

Your Visa died years ago. You have been using extensions of stay based on business.

At you next extension apply for an Extension of Stay based on your Thai Wife. No need to leave the country.

Take.

Wife's ID Card and House Registration. Marriage Certificate. Maybe also copy of Marriage registration .Proof of 400,000 Baht in a Thai bank or 40,000 Baht monthly income. Photo's of you and your Wife in and around your house. Map to your house. Passport size photo. 1,900 Baht fee.

Your Wife has to go with you to be interviewed.

You will get a 30 day under consideration stamp. Go back in a month to get the Extension.

It is not a Visa it is an Extension of Stay.
