House Builder Khon Kaen

Featured Replies

I am intending to build a house 15 miles north of Khon Kaen.

I live in the south of Thailand and will not be able to supervise its construction continually although I shall be visiting the site on a regular basis.

For that reason, I am considering using Piman Construction who will draw up the plans and give me a firm price for its completion rather than using a smaller but maybe cheaper and less reliable builder from the town (Namphong).

Does anyone have experience using this company or have any constructive comments to help me?

Sorry, I have no experience of these people.

There is an English guy "Alan the Builder" who uses KhonKaen.com and other forums (Surin, Korat) who builds all over Thailand. He shows regular updates on the Forums and seems to be an ok guy. He might be worth contacting.

Good luck.

Hi,

You may like to ask members on the Khon Kaen Forum

http://www.khonkaen.com/english/forum/default.asp.

The Piman Group are well known around KK city. They have built several U private urbanizations in the City and one condo at Piman Chon 2 (you porbably knwo this already)

AlantheBuilder has submitted photos of some of his work on that Forum and answered a few questions.

He has his own informative site

http://www.alanthebuilder.com/

with photos of several of the houses he has built. He will be well aware of Western standards and expectations and I feel is worth contacting. Maybe you can view completed houses and see how they look new and some built a little time ago to see how they have faired.

Same logic would be to view the Piman Urbanizations to see how they have faired over time as they have been building here for 15+ years.

Hope this helps

Dave

Thank you for both for your helpful comments.

I can forsee this project is going to be a nightmare but hopefully worthwhile on completion.
