Sms a mobile phone

Featured Replies

Hi all I have a number of a girl I met in Pattaya.

I want to sms her thru the web, but I'm not how. I know she uses a buys a card to pay for her phone, but I'm not sure of the company she uses. Her number starts with 06-XXX etc.

Can anyone shed some light on this for me?

Thanks,

Tim

what is her handphone provider? go to their webite, it should have some info how to sms, for example: this is GSM web message http://203.170.228.139/ not sure for sms, hope it help  :o

ICQ has always been my preferred choice for SMS to Thai handphones (or any country handphones that are compatible for that matter)

HOWEVER it wont work for most pre-paid card mobile phones, particularly 06-prefixed.

tmdawg - this topic has been done many times before - I suggest if you've got the time, start rolling backwards through the threads and you'll find all the info you'll need.

Good luck.

06 prefix is used by Hutch mobile phones (same as my GF). This is a relatively new network and it is a pain to contact outside of Thailand!!  I spoke at length to Hutch and right now, it is not possible to send an SMS to a Hutch phone from other than a Thai phone, such as DTAC or AIS.  In the future they said...You also cannot telephone a Hutch phone from overseas mobile networks :o

The only way i got round this was to get my GF to go to the Hutch website and set up an email address (which is in the format [email protected]).  You can now send an email to this address and it will be alerted on her phone.  If you send a blank email to her and put a short message in the subject line (less than 20 characters), then that message will appear as an SMS on her phone.

So, you need to send her multiple emails with blank messages and short subject lines:)  But its ok and free.  I send short messages (How are u?, See u soon etc), and she gets them in a few seconds..

Hope that helps

Simon

Goodness me! How many times?  ::o:

06 is not limited to Hutch mobiles. It could equally be Orange or Dprompt. (Most BG's have One2Call)

Call her and find out what network she is on and then come back here for a solution. All the solutions have been posted previously. Just do a search.
