New Year revelers start returning to Bangkok

The celebrants, mostly from the north and northeast provinces, were seen arriving at Morchit bus station in Bangkok on Saturday, forcing bus station officials to request taxi and motorcycle taxi drivers to pick up passengers from the station.

Revelers are returning to Bangkok through Sunday as they are expected to return to work on Monday the the four-day New Year holidays.

Many passengers arriving at the bus station carrying bags of rice and dried food indicating concern about economic uncertainty in the country.
