Nah.....the Europeans are a lot more friendly :)

Teasing of course but I hope that's allowed amongst freindly Americans? :D

LaoPo

They're so thick skinned.

You can have a dig at them and they just laugh it off. :)

I like Americans because...

They don't roll their eyes when I say "soccer".

They don't whine about pads and helmets when I talk about football (American version).

They know how to make a proper hamburger.

They don't get all defensive about their language.

Because my mom is American.

Tex Mex food!!!!!

Willy Nelson!!!!!

Larry McMurtry!!!!

Just a shame they can't make hamburgers. :)

I went to an Aussie friends bar/restaurant in Udorn not long ago. I ordered a hamburger and with my first bite, I realized he had put red beets on it, along with the normal lettuce, tomato, onion, etc.

I removed the beets and finished eating a really good hamburger.

Blasphemous wretch.

Do you realise how hard it is to find a place that puts beetroot in hamburgers in Australia these days?

Post the name of the bar, I'll check it out on my next run to Vientiane. Does he put a fried egg in them as well? :)

Spelling is Spelling. Thank you for pointing out the missing apostrophe.

The name of his place is Jingjo's (Note the apostrophe) and it is located near the Makro store. I can find it but I can't tell you how to get there.

I had no fried egg in my hamburger but I am certain he can handle that as well.

I like them because I work for an American company.

:)

It's true.....

I like America because

After the non-pacifists killed the Indians, they invited White Western Europeans to join them.

After the Plymouth Colony threw Roger Williams out to die in the snow, he invented freedom of religion, and let Jews build the first synagogue in the New World.

After killing British and Hessian soldiers, they wrote a great Constitution (for white land-holding males) and the Bill of Rights.

After killing several 100,000 of their fellow white countrymen, they freed the slaves and put them in separate unequal schools for the next 100 years, until non-violently freed by a "Negro" Christian pacifist.

After marching to the Halls of Montezuma and stealing a third of Mexico, they let ten million Mexicans in, to clean toilets and cut grass and kill the nation's enemies.

Here it is written by a German

See, and you said no good ever came from killing.

Germans really have no business talking <deleted> about other countries - considering. :)

What did I, or the guy from East Prussia, miss? Should have I included 10 ironic emoticons? Shall we praise the Lord Jesus, a pacifist, that Lincoln felt 620,000 Americans had to die to free the slaves? Did God command the conquest of the New World?

Wait...maybe you left out an irony emoticon.

God bless you.

General,

The Germans learned their lessons. Did we?

You mean we made them disarm. That ain't exactly the same thing. :D

I mean the Germans and Japanese (after they were forced to disarm), learned some lessons in humility. We and Israel learned hubris.

But look at the societies both Japan and Germany were able to develop without a war machine to fund. Imposed or not it seems to have turned out pretty well.

Going off topic slightly (which this thread has already done anyway).

Where Japan and Germany actually allies during WWII, or was it more a case of them just having a common enemy?

Just curious, I can't seem to find the answer on google.

Yes they were. You can Google "The Berlin Pact" for details.
