If I'm Outside The Box...

Featured Replies

If I'm outside the box then how do I get back in the box?

Just askin. :)

You could catch yourself with a fishing rod and lower yourself in.

Not many here managing to keep in the confines of the box, why not go with the flow?

The bullies keep tossing me out of the sandbox. It's been that way my entire life. Maybe somebody is trying to tell me something.... :):D:D

Just take your clothes off, that should run them off. :D

Yer right. I could post photos, but that would surely scare EVERYONE here off the forum. I thought the one of me behind a banana leaf was bad enough. :)

The banana leaf post was what gave me the idea.

Thanks, Miggy. Now I'm back in the box and I'm feeling loved again. :)

Sory, I thought that was what he was talking about, a piece of sporting equipment designed to protect ones' extremities. I did think it was a pretty rum question though. :)

Ooooh, I could be so rude right now - but I won't be! :)

Glad to see you are reading my posts, koheesti. :D

On a more serious note, I had to learn to be a predator. I started school a year early and was small for my age. I had to deal with school yard bullies all the time. The bullies didn't realize I wasn't a coward, but just wanted to be left alone. I was passive-aggressive and would only take so much before I snapped. And I wound up fighting all the time. I had to learn to be assertive instead of passive aggressive. When bullies went too far I learned to be a predator and would stalk the bully; then strike without warning, and on my terms. When the bullies wound up with bleeding noses, black eyes and sore testicles they learned to leave me alone. But, once I learned to be assertive instead of passive-aggressive I had far less hassle in life. Being assertive is giving out a verbal warning at the first sign of any crap, and nipping any confrontation in the bud. And, being willing to back up the warning with violence if necessary.

Ah, cummon, suegha, give it your best shot. Isn't that what Bedlam is all about? We're mostly all friends here anyway. :)

Oh, it was going to be very obvious - being about in or outside the box, make up your own punchline! :D:D

So you felt boxed in as a child

If you're outside the box...... as per the OP.....but what if the box is a tessaract? Could you be inside and outside simultaneously? Or a box with mobius strip sides?

Ooooh, I could be so rude right now - but I won't be! :D

There's the need for that bite-my-tongue emoticon again.

I'm not sure that "box" is universally used in the way I think you mean it, suegha. :)

I didn't miss your point. I had that in mind when I wrote the post. It was just about someone suggesting I visit the outside the box forum within the Bedlam forum and my devious mind went to work again. :D

Actually not. My siblings and I were free to wander all over Vancouver when I was a child. That would be unheard of today. My sister and I walked by ourselves for miles all over the university endowment lands when we about 7 or 8 years old. The university endowment lands were pretty wild in those days, with sand cliffs looking over the ocean and a big forested land base. On the weekend we would take off right after breakfast and pack a lunch and wouldn't return until supper time. I remember being so small that I had to ride a ladies bike and couldn't sit on the seat because my legs were too short. There were no children's bikes in those days. It was a marvelous experience and set the course for the rest of my life traveling in the wilderness with a rifle on my shoulder and a pack on my back.

I used to think outside the box but then I got my ducks in a row and hit the ground running on a level playing field and scoring between non-moving goal posts in, what I thought, was a win-win situation.

Then the team captain said I wasn't thinking outside the box and substituted me thus banishing me to the interboxwastelands.

Now I think outside the bottle.
