At lunchtime on Saturday, Police Lieutenant Colonel Chatchai from Pattaya Police Station was called to the Yinyom Beach located behind the Adriatic Palace Hotel at the end of Soi 6 off the Pratamnuk Road in South Pattaya to investigate a case of drowning involving a foreign tourist. At the location, other beachgoers had recovered the body of Mr. Alirezi Soghandi aged 43 from Iran. He had been taken to the beach in the morning, as part of a group, by a Thai Tour Guide, Khun Atirot aged 42. The victim decided to go for a swim and was last seen approximately 20 meters from the shoreline. Concerned tourists swam out in an attempt to locate the man and he was found submerged in the water. His body was taken back to the beach and inspected by the investigating officer who will wait for the results of a post mortem examination before they close the case. They expect the cause of death to be natural causes.

RIP, Drowning is a natural cause of death????

The article would be speculating the cause of death maybe from natural causes ie cardiac failure, in which case, no water would be in the lungs or raised saline levels in the blood. Of course if the lungs show water and the levels of saline are raised in the blood then it would be determined by the Pathologist as drowning, which is a Sudden death.
