Should the legendary loveliness of Mrs Brown's daughter be reconsidered in the light that Herman's Hermits were horny young pop stars and therefore inclined towards a certain susceptibility?

But girls as sharp as her were rare......so maybe even low-libidoed men may have found her lovely.

I use as a measuring stick my personal standards of female appreciation at that age.

I rest my case.

We weren't all married to Island beauties at 18 you know. :):D

I guess his case is full of PLAYBOYS etc.

So many he has to rest.

You be surprised how heavy a case of books or magazines is, as I've found out at the occasional airline check in counter.

I'll confess the Playboy came in handy for that occasional teenage romantic moment.

Are the OSCARS a genuine competition, or a con job?

A mutual admiration society?

Yes, they gush all over each other and all over the place and then whinge when the papps - who do a more honest day's work than an 'actor' could ever do - chase them down the street. I like the way that 'actors' go on about their 'profession' - about their years of toil and training to become respected 'actors' - and yet even a young kid can do it (Macaulay Culkin started acting when he was four).

Actors. Bah, humbug.

I've never understood why actors are celebrated. "Wow, he can pretend to be someone else!!!!" In a sense he gets celebrated for being false, and speaking someone else's words.

I celebrate Stephen Hawking and Ghandi Ji.

Eggzachary.

The dedicated people who looked after Stephen Hawking deserve being celebrated too.

I read his biography some years back.

I saw his daughter on a doco on the weekend ("Stephen Hawking's Universe")......I'm very turned on by intelligence, and she is good looking too.

Life is just full of these mysteries PS. I have so many unmatched socks it's unreal!

I once made a terrible mistake by wearing two different shoes (sneakers).

Noticed it when at the office........ :D

It was dark yeah, did not want to wake up my then GF by zwitching on the light.

Anyone else made a worser mistake?

:D

I have done exactly that for the same reason, just a few weeks ago with normal shoes. One dark brown, the other black. Nobody noticed. Except the GF when I got home.

Wearing odd socks to high school.

I bet the whole office never stood up and laughed at you when you walked in. :)

As a 7 year old I once managed to get all the way to school before realising I hadn't changed out of my brown leather slippers.

Going back to the beginning of the Thread, the Hitchhikers guide quite clearly states the following three propositions. These should be considered long and hard before any further posting on this thread:

"In the beginning the Universe was created.

This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

" There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable.

There is another theory which states that this has already happened."

Now, if you still wish to post anything here, I leave you with the third of the above-mentioned three:

"the Question and the Answer are mutually exclusive. Knowledge of one logically precludes knowledge of the other. It is impossible that both can ever be known. "

Which is so true. Think about it, - Kayo.

^I thought you said you were off the turps? :)

I reject that totally. It's a nonesense.

If I asked you a question to which you knew the answer (eg, what's your name?) you would know the answer.....and at the same time be aware of the question.

Which country has the largest population of tigers?

Who correctly guessed the USA with about 7,000?

Which country has the largest population of tigers?

.....................................................

Who correctly guessed the USA with about 7,000?

Ahhhh...I didn't guess correctly...I thought India, despite that I saw a doco on Discovery or Nat Geo being advertised just a few hours ago....the ad was a soundbite that stated that there are more tigers in captivity than in the wild....so that makes sense.

Sad.

Why is it that only girls from planet earth compete at the Miss Universe competition?

:)

Why6 is it that there are so many obscure sporting championships in USA in which the competitors for the world title (!) all come from towns within the surrounding ten or so miles?

BTW, earlier today I conducted the Lamb Chop Wrapping and Freezing Championships and won the World title myself - without one single complaint of a conflict of interest in conducting, officiating at and declaring myself the winner of the said title. Perhaps next year I'll take the competition to Hicksville, USA so that it has a tad more legitimacy...

Ping, ya going to find ya Pappy?

Ya Mama neva telled ya, huh?

Lamb chops, that what ya call ya rugrats?

You gotta cheek slingin' off at Kiwis, Ockors are champions with sheep.

WHich country has the most British expats per Square Mile? (other measurements are allowed in the response.)

The obvious answer is Spain, so I'll say India........ :)

I'd say it would be a small country because a large country would lower the average per square mile.....Hong Kong would have been my answer 20 years or so ago....Perhaps Singapore?......Barbados?

But if it is not an average per square mile of the entire country, but density in a particular square mile...Pattaya, BKK, Majorca, or Ibiza could make the answer Spain or Thailand.

According to the BBC, 5.5m British people live permanently abroad – nearly one in ten of the UK population. Only in 2008, 172,000 UK citizens permanently left Britain.
