3 Confirmed Cases Of Swine Flu At Local School

Featured Replies

On Thursday Morning we went to Pattaya School Number 2 in Naklua and spoke with Khun Gasear, the Principal of the School following reports of suspected cases of Swine Flu at the School. This is of major concern to parents of students and the rest of Pattaya who assumed that the virus was no longer present. Although none of the students are wearing masks, they are all washing their hands on a regular basis. We can report three confirmed cases of Swine Flu from students in different years and emergency hygiene measures are now in place at the school and one other student is under close observation with a suspected case of Swine Flu. All three boys are being treated at the Bangkok Hospital Pattaya with the fourth suspected case being dealt with by medics at Banglamung Hospital. The School will be shut down on Friday for one day when Public Health Workers will come and fumigate the entire school as a precaution.

Local School fumigated following Swine Flu scare

As a follow-up to the Swine Flu story we featured on Thursday regarding an outbreak of Swine Flu at a local school, we were back at Pattaya School Number 2 on Friday Morning as a team of Public Health Swine Flu experts from Chonburi began the fumigation process in an attempt to prevent the outbreak of Swine Flu from spreading. Khun Wattana, Deputy Mayor of Pattaya was also there to inspect the work and confirmed that Pattaya City Hall will provide full support to the school and will ensure that any students suspected of contracting Swine Flu will be treated in accordance with national guidelines. He stated there is no cause for major concern at this time but did stress that Swine Flu should be taken seriously and is still a threat.

How does fumigating a school stop the spread of swine or any other sort of flu?

Is it a case of being seen to do something to calm the nerves of the panicky locals? Or does some pu yai have a cousin/mate/interest in the fumigation business?

I don't understand something on ThaiVisa.

Why ThaiVisa put advertisment for The Nation when articles of from PattayaOne ?

Where don't you put links to original articles ? Link are the hear of the Internet... I think. :)
