Unable to access thaiforum via t-net

Featured Replies

I use t-net unlimited hours (tt&t) and i-net as an emergency backup. i have been unable to acces thaivisa or its forums on t-net for some days but can with i-net. t-net works for every other website but thai visa. any reason why? any suggestions? I cleaned my cache, deleted my cookies, am out of further ideas. hope I haven't been barred for some unknown reason!
Have you contacted t-net? Ask to see their list of banned sites. While I doubt Thaivisa.com would be on it, TiT and anything is possible.

No, we are not banned!

Some ISP's doesn't update their DNS nameservers as they are supposed to do regulary. We changed hosting for some parts of the thaivisa.com domain recently, and some lazy ISP's haven't catched up with the changes yet. Complain loudly to your ISP, we can't do nothing here I am afraid.

I have emailed them,  now lets hope they read it!

lazy isp's george?? nooooo.... impossible!

Surely the DNS zonefiles of thaivisa.com have a expiry time, so i would guess that t-net have either a transparent cache or you are using a proxy directly. hold down "shift" and go to thaivisa.com - this will force a cach-refresh.

nope, shift didn't work. still no response from the email. HAH! who's surprised?

can you do a tracert to www.thaivisa.com ?

if it does not resolve, trace to 66.246.42.230, if that goes thru, a temporary solution would be to add that to your hosts file (c:\windows\system32 or somewhere, do a search.

./P

click start/run and type "cmd" - press enter.

type : tracert www.thaivisa.com

If that fails, tracert 66.246.42.230

if that works, click start/run, type:

notepad c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts - press enter

Add on a new line:

66.246.42.230        www.thaivisa.com

click file/save

(you might also need to repeat the above for "forum.thaivisa.com")

go back to your command prompt, again type tracert www.thaivisa.com - it should work (you might need to reboot)

wipe hands on pants, post, enjoy.

i've been using prepaid samarts.com cards and connecting to the net using the dialup phone number 1222 here in bangkok for many months. for the last three days i have been pulling my hair out as most of everything on the web won't come up including thaivisa.com, and having problems with email working on and off also.

today i broke down and bought a loxinfo/cscoms card to test with and connected with 1222 and email is working but again most of the websites don't come up including thaivisa.com.

using the same loxinfo/cscoms card through 026855999 bangkok EVERYTHING works perfect and is rock solid. this leads me to believe there is a hardware problem not specific to a internet provider but the 1222 connection.

I can connect via T-Net from this afternoon Thaivisa.
