On Monday afternoon in front of the Soi 9 police station in Pattaya a press conference was held to announce the arrest of a 36-year-old Thai male who was charged with possession of 141 Yabba tablets. The man had been riding his motorbike down Soi Siam Country Club in eastern Pattaya when he was stopped by a police checkpoint. Officers discovered the significant quantity of the prohibited Class 1 drug as well as 21,120 baht in small denominations. As the number of tablets was clearly well above that required for personal use the man confessed to selling the tablets. He said he worked in South Pattaya painting pictures for tourists but the work wasn’t as lucrative as selling Yabba. He will now have the opportunity to paint his pictures of people framed in stripy sunlight, presuming he is found guilty in a court.
