Late on Wednesday Night at Pattaya Police Station there was a fight between two groups of women over an issue of copyrighted music being played at an Internet Shop on the Tappraya Road in South Pattaya. Back on 9th February, a team of officials from a music licensing company from Bangkok visited the SN Internet Shop owned by Khun Thainee aged 32. Inspections of computers found mp3 music files which had been allegedly downloaded illegally onto the hard drive of the computers. Khun Thainee challenged the officials to produce paperwork to confirm who they were which they were unable to do. It was agreed that the two parties would meet at Pattaya Police Station on Wednesday Night to clear the matter. Tempers flared as the copyright officials once again failed to produce documentation to confirm who they were. Police had to break-up the pair and a Police report was made and it was agreed that the two groups would meet again on Thursday Afternoon at the Police Station. This time, the copyright officials failed to turn-up raising suspicions that the officials may have been acting outside of the law or may in fact me bogus officials. Pattaya Police are now investigating the case further and will press charges against the so-called officials if they are found to be bogus or have acted outside of the law by conducting an inspection of the Internet Shop in question.

Full marks to the internet shop owner who stood her ground. :) Many people would have been intimidated.

I am surprised that the alleged copyright police could not be confirmed quickly by the plod, and in the event they were probably bogus, the plod did nothing but asked them come back tomorrow with ID. :D
