A Few Questions Regarding Uk Visa

Featured Replies

Hi,

I was hoping someone might be able to answer a couple of questions I have regarding a UK visitors visa for my wife.

Normally we use a visa agent up here in CM, but I understand that she has to have her fingerprints taken before a new visa is granted and this can only be done at the Embassy in BK.

So as she has to go to BK she may as well submit the visa application at the same time.

If she does this will she then have to collect it in person?

If so how many working days will she have to wait, and will they notify her by phone when it is ready to collect.?

One other point, can she pay for the visa application in cash?

Many thanks to those in the know in advance

TP

She will apply at UK/Vac in Bangkok they will do the bio metrics etc once she submits the application.

You make a bankers draft on the ground floor of Regent house to pay the visa fee.

You can pay a courier fee of 300 baht to have your documents returned.

If you require any help we have an office in Pattaya that can deal with this.

Just went through this process and you are correct, the biometrics have to be done at Regent House in Bangkok. Just turn up, you don't need an appointment and if they are not too busy you will be in and out in about an hour.

VFS will courier the passport back on payment of 300 Baht so your partner doesn't need to go back to collect it. My wife recently submitted her Family Visit application on a Monday - no queue at 11:00 - and the passport was returned the following Monday. This was faster than we expected as the Embassy were not processing applications for two days that week, due to a computer upgrade.
