Braille Work In Isaan

Featured Replies

So why do I spend all this time doing Braille work gratis both here in NE Thailand and around the world? Because I like stories like this (even though the young girl will probably use large print rather than braille).

I was born with visual impairment (low vision) from Ayudthaya province. I never know my father and I never had the chance to see him even once. I grew up with my grandmother (mother of my mother) in Ayudthaya while my mother worked and lived in Bangkok... (continued on PDF)

... and your point is ...

TV does not need a person such as yourself. Go back to where you came from. :)

The point is that it is a nice Isaan story... What is your story?

That little girl with the big smile, Miss 'Un', has had a tougher life so far that most of us here can likely imagine... and has come out of it with spunk... on that score, any of us here should be so lucky.

A comment such as this after a story such as this can only be viewed as sarcasm, after which I pointed it out your next few post defiantly changed tone. :)

Yes a sad story but with hopefully a good ending. Thank you for sharing it.

You are welcome. It is a tradition amongst Thai persons in NE Thailand that, to celebrate a birthday of a family member, the family sponsors a Sunday lunch at one of the CFBT Schools for the Blind -- Khon Kaen, Roi Et, Khorat, Lampang, etc. A few years back I attended many. Maybe some persons here might consider doing the same... PM for details

BTW one of the young blind students that I mentored in KK a few years back is now in The City Law School at City University London, after she spent several years at the London School of Economics, all on full Thai Government Scholarship... another is now a lecturer at University of Ubon after obtaining a Masters from University of Leeds by virtue of winning a competitive British Council scholarship.
