westbounder
Hi, I live here in Chiang Mai and starting next week I will be spending a week at my favorite place in Phuket. After leaving Phuket I want to go to Krabi then Samui. I want to know to know the best and easiest way to go to Krabi from Phuket and I also want to know what area I should stay in Krabi. (I want a quiet area that have accomadations available for no more than 1,200 per night). It does not have to be near the beach. I also need to know the best and easiest way to go from Krabi to Samui. Thank you kindly

krakatoa
Hire yer self a jeep and drive to Krabi. About 2.0 hours. Get a regular bus / mini bus from Phuket to Krabi. Maybe a few minutes longer. No advice on accommodation 'sorry'
kilt
Boat from Krabi to Phuket. 2 hours. Tickets available at all travel agencies.
WinnieTheKhwai
Once in Krabi it's nicest to stay on one of the islands. Lanta perhaps. There are boats from Phuket, or you can take a bus from Phuket town to Krabi and then connect. (That's more hassle obviously). I'm betting there are minivans run by travel agents as well. ( Who needs friends when you have Google? )
sceadugenga
Yeah back in the day I used to use tourist agent minivans a lot down south. A Phuket to Samui trip included pick up at the island ferry terminal and transfer to a Lamai Beach hotel. A little bit more expensive than public buses but hassle free.
