Can any of you farlang Land tycoons advise me on this

My thai wife wants to buy a 1 rai block in Baan nong pai yai

(8 klm from buriram town ) with a main highway frontage with a view to build a house / shop

The land needs to be land filled

Price quoted was 200 000 baht

Sounds OK to me - assuming services are there. Make sure that you have access/frontage to that road - sometimes a strip of land can be retained by someone.

The landfill may cost you about Bt30-50K. Have you thought about building on stilts?

That seems ok, if it has main road frontage, a good buy, there is 5 rai frontage on the main road by my wifes village, they want 1.5 million baht, still up for sale, been for sale for about 12 months, that is 4 kilometers from town on the Surin Road, we have just bought another 2 rai for 200,000 that is very close to the main road just down the lane, good luck, and if you are that close to the city, maybe we will meet for a chaing.
