Anyone have ideas on where the big chilli growers are in Thailand ?? i am led to believe Issan is the area any help greatly appreciated

You could also try the Sisaket area. They have market stalls selling bulk chilli, garlic and onions on the Ubon side of the fresh food market beside the rail line in town. Truck and pickup loads head off to other provinces daily.

According to the report I have, of the 720 sq km of total chilli cultivation in Thailand (2001-2003), roughly 120 sq km are in Chaiyaphum Province... second province overall but mostly concentrated in the one Chatturat district.

Right down the road from me. Main off-rice season crop in my village. Most sold to pickup operators who cruise through daily. Can be purchased fresh or sun dried by the 10kg bag.
