All the important stuff will be happening behind closed doors now and likely we will never know details but it is defo make or break for Abhisit right now. I keep thinking back to when reading Chuan accepted the 4 PMs thing and then made his you cant experiment with security laws speech. That looked like cracks from within.

If it takes a coup to get rid of the unelected Democrat/BJT coalition, which will then see the way to fair elections I am sure the Reds will be fine with that.

They want to stop the Democrats/BJT lining their pockets with the peoples money in the next 9 months ready to bribe their way to election wins, so a coup would be fine for the Reds as a process in order to get Democracy returned I do beleive.

Sometimes its takes one step back to move two forward.

Really?

I am hoping Annupong delivers the fatal "no confidence" vote against the coalition, and that will lead to them being foung guilty under the EC rules and disbanded.

Then with new elections Thailand can, at last, move forward.

The Yellows got their way with TRT and PPP disbanded, and if the Reds can see the Democrats disbanded and new elections then its pretty fair, and everyone can move forward in peace.

Come on Annupong, "no confidence and withdraw support" from the coalition, its the way forward to an end of games.

Not sure I have read a more ignorant suggestion. Whatever the outcome would be, you would soon have either yellow or red radicals once again taking Thailand hostage. Why would this be ... because it would confirm this is how you get what you want in Thailand ... through flagrant law breaking, threats, intimidation, punishing innocent people and simply causing Chaos as well as economical hardship to Thailand as a whole.

And you don't think that the "Yellows" would counter is the House was dissolved and new elections held?

National Unity government to oversee elections and any other contentious pre-election stuff with elections in 3-6 months or a realistic timetable all can agree to is one way out. Whatever happens it must be something that is inclusive for all.

A coup would be no answer

Yes, the reds would be fine with a coup. They seem to be fine with double standards. Coups are not democracy, unless they help us.

edit: but even IF there was another coup, there wouldn't be quick elections. Not quick enough to suit Thaksin.

According to news reports a few moments ago, the military is switching sides.

There will be a list of options drawn up probably :

1/ Dissolve the house and call for elections.

2/ Have the EC find the Democtats guilty and disband them and have elections.

3/ Have a coup for "unity" and then elections.

4/ Have the smaller coalition parties leave the coalition and therefore call for an election

and so on.

Plenty of options for "face saving" on all sides.

The main thing is for new elections soonest, and the power back to the people to elect the government of their choice !!!

Quick NEWS FLASH for the 'thick' :) :

Deputy House Speaker Apiwan Wiriyachai, IS a Puea Thai MP for Nonthaburi, so he's firmly in the Opposition camp and hardly a reliable "white horse souce" err 'white house source'. :D

Yes of course.

This is more propaganda for the press and the Red rank and file.

Just out of interest what is the source. Not saying not true but would like to follow up on this.

Cheers, Rick

It comes from deputy speaker Apiwan who is a PTP MP. It could be true or it could have been quick thinking to talk Arisamon down who was on the verge of hunting down Suthep at that time. We should know soon as Suthep and Abhisit are now with the military

This problem all started with a coup and perhaps it needs another now to finish it all off and stop the problems started by the first one ?

One step back and then two forward.

The ideal solution is for Abhisit to simply dissolve the House and call for new elections in a couple of months. Simple.

Is he a man leading the country from a position of strength, or is he a weakling clinging on to power ?

If he beleives the Thai people want him, then they will vote him back in will they not ? Why be scared ?

I see. So there are coups for no reason, just a couple of generals out for some kicks? No sir. You are sadly mistaken.

This all started when Thaksin claimed to be a champion of the people and then used this mandate to steal unprecedented amounts of money for personal enrichment from the very people he represented. Too rich for corruption? It started when he systematically dismantled the pillars of democracy.

If the thugs win this, just fast forward and the same thing will happen again against them, endless cycle of doom. Someday the rule of the mob/coup solution must end. Abhisit is indeed too good for Thailand as it is. Their loss.

Source?

The news reported that a Red Shirt leader, who is now being called a fake Red Shirt by other Red Shirt leaders, has claimed this.

Here is a hint as to the source ...

And your just mentioning "the least" of his sins.

A point often overlooked by the Reds and their supporters. :)

Exactly. Round and round it will go. The only thing that will change is the colour of the shirts.

LOL - i never thought i would see the day a loyal red supporter would be calling for a coup to solve the political problems of Thailand.

Double standards, as demonstrated by all reds... Of course, its only double standards to the reds if it falls against them, if it works for them then it must be fair and ok, right?

God you guys are a joke!

You don't understand democracy do you?

This is a government elected by the peoples choice. Which MP in the government is not elected?

so you think those thai people in facebook are actually farang with multiple account (200,000) and made up their thai names and writing thai scripts on facebook?

i think you haven't eaten yet.

One person can sign up 100,000 user names, there are no restictions. Google translate can write in Thai for you.

If 10,000 PAD members signed up for 20 names each, you have 200K.

Think about it, why would anyone put a "poll" on facebook which the majority of the millions of Thai people do not even use ?????? Unless its there as a tool of the Yellow shirt PAD.

It is not representative of anything due the ease with which it can be manipulated and abused.

Stop posting lies, this is tiresome.

Either you are lieing to try to win a point without facts or you are clearly not computer savvy at all and have no clue as to what is out there.

No, you are wrong that there is no checks. First of all, one email per one facebook account.

Then they do check registrations on IP and time, and look for automated signups.

Also, if you think there is any cloned signups, you can very easy report the profiles and have all clones removed.

Shouldn't be a problem for a talented person as yourself, right?

From the internet active segment of the population a huge selection is using Hi5 and Facebook. Younger tend to go for Hi5, above university age mostly on Facebook or both.

You would be surprised what kind of people your would find on FB...
