In case anyone can help, I wish to marry my GF in the UK later this year and as such my GF is applying for a fiancée visa in a cpl of weeks, could anyone shed any light on what is meant by

“must show that there will be sufficient funds and accommodation in the UK without requiring public funds before and after the marriage”

Firstly, I currently rent a flat, but I have a letter from my Landlord stating that there is sufficient room for myself and my gf to live and there is no issue with both of us living there.

Secondly, I earn £27k a year but between us we only have about 1.5k savings, however I have £350 quid a month left over after all my outgoings.

Does anybody think there will be an issue with the application considering the above statement? (We both meet all the other requirements; the above statement I see isn’t clear on how it is determined whether you are determined as being able to support someone over the visa period)

Red Boy,

From the figures you've given, I can't see the visa officer challenging your ability to either maintain or accommodate your fiancée. Savings are not really an issue providing you have a regular income which is sufficient to take care of the 2 of you.

Cheers,

Scouse.

I would also document your length of rental experience with this landlord, if it is a long one as that tends to establish a stable ability to pay rent at the existing location.
